Broadmoor is bordered by the 1,200-acre Buck Gully Reserve, featuring miles of unspoiled hiking trails rising into the foothills of the San Joaquin Mountains. A short drive along winding roads south of Broadmoor brings you to Crystal Cove State Park, a gorgeous stretch of pristine coastline, sandy beaches, tide pools, and inland chaparral canyons. Wildlife within the park and along its 3.2-mile coastal stretch include otters and sea lions. Corona del Mar State Beach, also known as Big Corona, is easily accessible from Broadmoor. The neighborhood overlooks the luxurious vessels of Newport Harbor, and the waters surrounding it are a popular spot for sport fishing, kayaking, and other water-based activities.
