Things to Do
Harbor View Hills South is just a few blocks away from Corona del Mar State Beach. Also known as Big Corona, this pristine stretch of golden sand will be familiar to many as a filming site for Gilligan’s Island and a variety of Disney productions. Once a popular surfing spot, the extension of Newport Harbor’s jetty calmed the waves coming into the beach and has transformed it into a great place to swim. Following the coastline from Big Corona leads to many hidden coves and quiet beaches. It’s also possible to sail out to Balboa Island or Catalina Island for day trips.
